ASKO - The future is here

The future is here

Mitsubishi Electrical’s Australian Kitchen Revolution report describes the changing definition the modern kitchen.

The report revealed there is a generational shift from what was once a closed off kitchen area (exclusive to cooking) to now being utilised as an area where special moments, memories and traditions occur.

Alas, kitchen designs, along with efficiency and energy use are contributing factors to time poorness and are pushing people away from the ‘frying pan’ and into the ‘fires’ of takeaway food, processed foods and unhealthy eating habits.

A recent study at the Australian National University reveals that a lack of time is the primary cause for why many Australians have below standard eating habits. The study argues one in five Australians don’t have enough time to look after their health.

With the kitchen in focus, there is no time like the present to spruce it up. Read on to find out how.

Facelift

For many, the kitchen is a centrepiece in the family home—a bustling hub of activities, kids, friends and food. Albeit one of the many reasons to choose to remodel the kitchen is plain and simple… it’s falling apart.

Cracked tiles, peeling countertops, broken or missing cabinet doors and outdated appliances don’t inspire gourmet cooking or family gatherings. Your deteriorated kitchen has simply outlived its usefulness and needs a bit of TLC.

Thankfully, ASKO are the appliance specialists and with simplicity, sleekness and minimalism in mind it's time to find that extra space you never knew you had.

ASKO offers a full range of kitchen appliances that match the highest demands on design, function, durability as well as environmental standards.

Dishes will be cleaner, cooking will become second nature and most of all the Scandinavian design means it’s a timeless approach. This ensures your kitchen appliances still perfectly suit your kitchen for many years to come.

Cha-ching

Another prime motivator in the race to remodel the kitchen is to save energy.

Kitchens are one of the highest energy sources in the house according to The South Australian Government report on energy use—an offset of the energy use report of the Australian Government.

The report reveals that a kitchen can account for nearly 20 percent of an entire household energy bill, and furthermore upgrading a 10-year-old fridge or a microwave can cut energy bills by nearly 40 per cent.

But the most startling fact in the report is that appliances high in water consumption (such as the dishwasher) can account for nearly 25 percent of a home’s energy bills.

So how can we fix these energy hungry appliances?

It’s time to change to energy-efficient appliances and solar water heaters, which cut the utility bill and place less stress on the environment.

Not only is a reduction in energy high on the hit list, but also the added value of additional new appliances can add some dollars to the resale price of your home.

ASKO dishwashers are one such appliance.

Boasting a ‘Super Cleaning System+’, a program that blasts dishes before the main wash, there is no wasted water or energy pre-rinsing. Offering an eco-wash program, many ASKO dishwashers in the range work to conserve and save water during the main wash.

Last, but not least, ASKO dishwashers all feature impressive water and energy ratings, which are identifiable by the number of stars on the specified label.

The next big thing?

With the rise of cooking shows such as Masterchef, My Kitchen Rulesand Family Food Fight, non-professional and semi-professional chefs are on the rise and you might just be the next big thing.

As with any piece of equipment used for a job, chefs require nothing less than the best. At ASKO the balance is perfect; with timeless designs, cutting edge simplicity, and complex equipment enough to deal with any ‘kitchen nightmare…’  there is a simplicity yet refreshing authenticity to their use.

In addition, ASKO knows how to cater to the chef who is a little more pro than semi-pro, partnering with Adam Liaw the once great Masterchef giant who now runs his own show Destination Flavour.
