We all know that washing machines need hot water so it seems crazy not to use the hot water that is already available in our homes. This applies especially when you have an environmentally friendly and economic source of hot water, such as district heating, solar panels or a heat pump. Then you are using a source of hot water that is already there and the machine doesn’t need to consume as much electrical energy on heating the water. The ECO washer has two water inlet connections instead of just one: one for hot and one for cold water. The machine automatically adjusts the amount of hot or cold water that needs to be added to achieve the correct temperature for your chosen program. When the water needs to be warmer than the incoming hot water the washer heats it to the chosen temperature. On a 60º program you save as much as 24 minutes and 60% of the washer’s electrical energy consumption.

Another benefit of the hot water intake is that it has positive effects on most stain removal,  specially difficult stains such as oil, coffee and soot. Please also note that some protein-based stains like blood and meat need a cold pre-wash to be removed as efficiently as possible. For the best washing results with these stains we therefore recommend our ’super wash’ option.
