Self Cleaning Ovens- Known as Pyrolytic

Pyrolytic Program- what is it?

The new ASKO ovens feature a self cleaning internal cavity. On our 3 top of the line ovens you can simply turn them onto Pyrolytic and sit back and they will clean themselves. No more having to buy expensive cleaners or scrub them clean.

How does it work?

Simply select either the 90 minute ECO program or the 2 hour program for heavily soiled ovens. The oven will then heat up to 500c and burn all the residue off and all you do is wipe it clean at the end of the program.

When does my oven need cleaning?

Well our OP8650 is so smart it actually tells you when it needs cleaning then can automatically do it for you. But in general the frequency of cleaning on our other 2 models depends on what type of foods you cook. For example lamb which splatters will create much more mess than baking a cake, so cleaning will need to be more often.  

How much power does it consume?

Depending on where you live as little as 60 cents per cycle. It only consumes 0.6kw of electricity which is much less than buying an oven cleaner. It also does not expose you to harmful chemicals which can leave an odour in your oven. 

Is it safe?

At ASKO your's and your children's safety is paramount, so we have an automatically locking door system once you activate Pyrolytic cleaning. This will come on after 4 minutes of operation and will not allow any prying hands into the hot oven. We also have Quadruple glazing on our ovens so during Pyrolytic cleaning the external door does not exceed 50c. Both of these features combined make it extremely safe to use.
